Klondike Entrepreneur Mentoring Program

Even people with the greatest business ideas can benefit from learning and the community’s help to succeed – delivering this assistance is a key principle of our approach to community economic development. The Klondike Entrepreneur Mentoring Program provides free mentoring from experienced Klondike businesspeople, offering business advice, support and encouragement to help both new and active entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. Learning from someone who’s already been there – a mentor – is a big step forward to success.

Benefits to the Entrepreneur

• Assists you in establishing contacts within and outside the community
• Develops and improves your business and management skills
• Provides you with a personal contact for objective business advice when needed

How it Works

Our program will match you with a potential mentor, an experienced Klondike businessperson whose skills and expertise suit your particular needs. We introduce you to each other, and facilitate your first meeting during which you’ll review your business plan with your mentor and undertake an orientation to establish the foundation of your working relationship.

If you agree to work together, you and your mentor are encouraged to meet regularly but the future course of the relationship is in your hands. Mentors and entrepreneurs coordinate all subsequent meetings directly as required with communications one-on-one or virtual. Mentors may also introduce entrepreneurs to other contacts.

We provide ongoing support through resources and advice, skills development and networking opportunities as requested by you. Your only commitment to us is to meet with us occasionally for updates as to the status and outcomes of the relationship.
